Von was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He responded to the gospel call of salvation when he was 12 years old at Central Baptist Church in Aurora, Colorado
After graduating from High School in Aurora, Von joined the Air Force and went to Basic Training and Technical School (his career field – Security Forces/Police) in San Antonio, TX. His first duty station was at Schriever Air Force Base (AFB) in Colorado Springs, CO where he met his wife Sayla. Von and Sayla welcomed their first daughter Azriela (Azi for short) while in Colorado Springs. After spending 3 years in Colorado, Von received orders to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska.
Von and Sayla packed up all their stuff and drove from Colorado to Alaska (in November!). The family loved Alaska and spent 3 years there as well. During his time in Alaska, Von was deployed to Camp Taji, Iraq and did one tour there. Von and Sayla welcomed their second daughter Alyzaveth (Aly for short) in Alaska.
It was shortly after this that Von responded to the call to ministry and he and the family moved down to the DFW area. He shortly began attending Criswell College and after 3 years received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Biblical Studies and recently received a Masters in Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
In July of 2016, Von and Sayla welcomed their third daughter, Ayla.
Von enjoys sports more specifically, baseball, softball, football, and Basketball. He also likes reading, hanging out with his family and video games.
